A genuine 1817 gold sovereign from the first year of the modern sovereign. It was introduced in the Great Recoinage that followed the Napoleonic Wars, and it's the coin every sovereign since descends from.

- Reverse: Pistrucci's original St George and the dragon, within the Garter inscribed HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE
