Description
This stunning REGENCY BRASS INLAID CARVED FLAME MAHOGANY SARCOPHAGUS TEA CADDY, dating from the 1830s, is truly a statement piece with its unique inlaid design.
As shown in the photos, the caddy is in very good condition overall externally, consistent with its antique nature. It features two elegant brass ring handles and sits gracefully on four rounded feet. A working lock and its original key are included.
Internally, the mixer glass is present. Please note it has unfortunately caused a crack at the rest of the central mixing glass holder, as shown in the images. The left and right-hand lids are secured by four supporting strips of wood in the corners. The left-hand caddy requires two of these supports to be reglued, as the lid can currently tip at an angle. This internal section is also in fair condition.
This is a beautifully crafted and eye-catching antique piece.
Measurements are approximately: 30cm L x 16cm W x 18cm H
